NAEA Convention
I'm so excited! For green grass, colorful flowers, growing gardens, and for the NAEA Convention in Minneapolis! How could it be any better to have the National Convention only a few hours' drive from home? If you haven't registered, it is still possible to be there. Go to the NAEA website to register.
 
Lesson Plan

If you have a good lesson plan that is written out, submit it (or 2 or 3 of them) to the AEI web site.
At the NAEA convention in April, we will be handing out some art ed trading cards that tell the reader to go to the AEI web site for the complete lesson.  It would be great if when they went there, people found lots of other wonderful lesson plans.

Summer Courses
rondalizEven though it is weeks away, this is the time to plan for summer course work--a great way to recharge your creative batteries. We have received several notices of courses and opportunities for art teachers in the summer of '09.

All-state Arts Camp

Announcement of winners of the 2009 All-state Artists Team will be made soon. The judges will be getting together this coming weekend to look at portfolios already submitted by students across the state.
If you have students who should be involved in this challenge, but need a little extra boost, help them attend the All-State Art Camp at the Des Moines Art Center on June 8 - 12, 2009. More information.
