Surviving the Weather of '08
Those of us who live on high ground and out of the storms' paths are hoping that those who live and work in those areas of Iowa hit by floods and storms are getting back to normal. Some schools and artists' studios are closed and some are still working on recovery. A grant from the NEA to the Iowa Arts Council will be making a difference for many. More>

Welcome! "New" AEI Board Representatives!
Returning to the AEI Board, after several years, is art teacher Paul Adamson from Sioux City, Iowa. Secondary Art Teacher of the year in 1999-00, Paul also served on the AEI Board. He will be serving the Northwest AEA (Formerly Western HIlls AEA), along with (formerly AEA 4-Sioux Center) Tammy Hoppe and Shanise Brockshus.
The new Student Rep. on the AEI Board is Matt Barlow from Creston. And Becky Kobos, past AEI President, is now representing Grant Wood AEA 10.

March is just Around the Corner....
As you get older, you realize that months are just mile markers along the trail. So March will be here before you know it. And one of the things that you will want to do is enter work by one or more of your students in the AEI Youth Art Month Show at the Iowa State Historical Building. The celebration will begin on February 28, with a reception at the Historical Building.
So keep and eye out for the works that you will want to enter on behalf of your students. And keep an eye on the Artedia.org site for more information about entering. More>
