Greetings!

Spring art shows, concerts, and parent-teacher conferences... There is little time to be an artist or think about anything other than what your students will be doing in class later today.
Sit back. Relax. Here are a few minutes to think about something else! No charge...

Ceramic Muralist Connie Greany
How do you involve the whole school in an art project? Grundy Center sixth through 12th. grade art teacher Ronda Sternhagen invited a muralist to come to the school. Students were invited to work on a mural designed for their school. Even students who have not been in a high school art class were excited to get their tile included in the week-long project.
See their creative collaboration...
An Online Art Activity
Create a Still-Life
National Gallery of Art Kids has a fun and educational site that allows you and your students to create interactive compositions. It's just like being an old master (but using pixels)!

If you're dreaming of the fall and doing something a little different, think about presenting at the AEI Fall Conference. Ellen Henkels, the Conference Chair, is looking for people who would like to share a hands-on workshop, a successful lesson plan, an art-related trip of a lifetime... Submit the idea and work on it this summer, and present October 3, 4, & 5 in Dubuque!

Sincerely,
Nancy Sojka
