2007 AEI ALL STATE ART AWARDS
|
|
|
|
A fabulous opportunity is available for art students and is open
to ALL secondary art teachers in the state of Iowa. This compe-
tition was designed to recognize the best junior and senior
visual arts students in the state.
Urge your best students to participate. A total of 12 All State
Art artists will be honored at the Des Moines Art Center on May
5, 2007. An exhibition of selected student works and an awards
ceremony complete with prizes, and multimedia display will be
presented.
The 2007 All State Art Awards portfolio information is posted
on the AEI website (www.artedia.org) where the downloadable
forms are also available.
Entry Fee: $10 per student.
Deadline for Receipt of Entries: MARCH 14, 2007

2007 ALL STATE ART CAMP
|
|
|
|
The 5th Annual All State Art Camp experience is
scheduled for June 4-8, 2007. Sponsored by the Art
Educators of Iowa and the Des Moines Art Center, mature
students who are energetic and motivated young artists are
encouraged to participate. This opportunity will help to prepare
you (students) for the college experience.
If you know a student(s) who will be a sophomore, junior, or
senior by the fall of 2007, s/he may qualify for this terrific
opportunity. Specific information and/or forms available on the
artedia.org website.
Deadline for all Art Camp application materials is APRIL 1,
2007! Don't procrastinate!

WE HONOR TWO ART EDUCATORS
|
|
|
|
Iowa City art teacher Amy Pfeiler-Wunder has been selected as
the Western Region Elementary Art Educator for 2007. Becky
Kobos, also an Iowa City art educator, was selected the
Western Region Art Educator for 2007. CONGRATULATIONS to
both of these outstanding AEI members and art educators!

YOUTH ART MONTH Celebration
|
|
Guaranteed to provide recognition and entertainment for
students, their families, and teachers involved, the YAM
celebration held annually at the Des Moines Historical Musuem
is always a great way to showcase the visual arts.
Entries traditionally have been due at the January board
meeting. However, since the AEI board meeting will occur
February 3, that must be the final day for receipt of entries.
