Greetings!
As schools across Florida begin to wrap up and kids look to a fun summer, we wanted to give you a quick update.
Nominations are being accepted for the Florida Green School Awards. A program of the Florida Green School Network sponsored by FPL, now is the time to recognize those efforts by students, teachers, classrooms, schools and school districts. All public and private schools are eligible. So are home-schooled students. Nominations are due June 4, 2012, and July 13 for school districts.
The judging for the Sustainable Florida Best Practice Awards are just now wrapping up. We had a bit of a technology snafu and judging was delayed a bit. Apologies to the nominees. The awards program will be in July. Stay tuned for details. On the home front, we have started composting. Interesting process. Looking forward to reporting back our results. In the meantime, leave your camp site better than the way you found it. Cheers!
All the best, Tim Center, Esq. Executive Director P.S. Be sure to join us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date on the latest sustainability news in Florida and beyond. |
