The deadline for Sustainable Florida Best Practice Awards is now 4 PM Wednesday, April 6. We gave everyone a couple extra days. Only 10 days remain to submit your nomination.
  
You see them everyday. Companies. Small businesses. Non-profits. People in your community. Making a difference. Not business as usual. Breaking the mold. Engaged in their community. Conscious of their environmental impact. All while increasing their economic bottom line while expanding their market share.

 

They are doing well by doing good. They focus on a triple bottom line. They are the best!

 

Make your nomination today for the 2011 Sustainable Florida Best Practice Awards - the state's premier sustainability awards program.  More than 130 businesses, non-profit organizations, governmental groups and individuals have been honored for their work that demonstrates that a healthy environment and a healthy economy are mutually supportive. The Governor and Cabinet bestow a resolution honoring the winners each year.
 
The nomination deadline is fast approaching. Nominate yourself, a colleague, a vendor or partner. Awards will be presented in several categories including Leadership, Small Business, Large Business, Non-Profit, Partnership, and Green Building. An independent blue-ribbon panel of experts in sustainable practices will review and score the nominees. Nomination forms may be accessed on the web. The deadline has been extended to April 6, 2011 - 4 PM.

USGBC Legislative Days Going On Now!

In Tallahassee? Stop by and say hi!

USGBC LogoSeems like there is a delegation from a different city, county or organization visiting the the Florida Legislature each day in Tallahassee during the regular session. Many of these groups have their own lobbyists. Some folks, like the Florida Chapters of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) are unrepresented, but are just as passionate. And they are in town.

 

If you are in Tallahassee this evening, join them for their reception at the WXYZ Lounge at the aloft hotel (200 North
Monroe Street). If in the capitol tomorrow (March 29th), attend the Clean Energy Panel from 11 AM - Noon in Mallory Horne Committee Room in the Lower Level of the Senate Office Building.
