For almost five weeks now Live-Artist Denis Buckley has been engaging audiences and investigating perceptions of national identity in his project titled 'SEARCHING FOR THE UNIMAGINED CONSCIENCE OF MY RACE'.

Through an exhibition, screenings, discussions and performances, audiences were invited to contribute their feelings of belonging to the engagement. Throughout he has filmed and edited an original work to mark the engagement.

We will premiere this film at Mermaid on Thursday 21 July at 7pm. Shot in Bray, London and Fanore Co Clare, the work includes contributions from participants recorded during gallery and street interventions.

Following the film there will be a Q&A between the artist and Mermaid's Artistic Director Nora Hickey.
