| A NOTE FROM DONATELLA | |
Thank You!
I wanted to take a moment to thank all the members and guests for their participation at the luncheons and events organized by the Scottsdale Express Network.
A new Board of Directors is now in office. It has been a privilege to serve as VP of Membership for the past year, and to help this group with their mission: "to provide a fun, supportive and nurturing environment to help our professional members grow and prosper through networking, continuing education, recognition and leadership opportunities."
The focus in this past year has been on social media because it has changed and influenced the way we communicate and do business, and its power is undeniable; hence, the importance of focusing on this technology tool. However, it is a tool, and I still believe in personal interaction. I trust you will find the positive aspect of networking face-to-face and will join us for lunch each month. Invite your friends, families, and business partners so that we can help each other grow and prosper.
Best wishes to all.

REPORT ON THE ARC LEADERSHIP RETREAT
| | By Hedy Friedman
The Arizona Regional Council Leadership Retreat was held on Saturday June 11th. This was my first retreat, and I certainly learned a lot. My ABWA trivia needs a lot of brushing up, but luckily I was paired with Marie Cory who mentored me through.
Patti Vargas District VI Vice President, gave a wonderful presentation on WIN... she even got me signed in! There is a lot of information available to all of us if we adopt WIN to provide all the news and information we seek from ABWA. "Never Stop Learning" is Patty's motto, and she states that everything she ever needed to know she learned from ABWA. Patty reassured us that strong, successful women make excellent role models.
Marsha Sparks, ARC VP proved that she never stops learning and her knowledge of ABWA trivia and enthusiasm was very inspiring.
Christina Wagner, Social Media/Broadcast Media Expert, was accompanied by Facebook Guru Heather Dobson and Internet Business Networking Queen Gia Heller.
Heather showed us how ABWA can be promoted on Facebook, as can our own businesses. She provided insight in to the process, and definitely sparked enough interest that I actually joined Gia Heller's National Business Network and look forward to promoting my business on Facebook as well.
I came away with a lot of information, I met lovely women and I am really glad I attended the retreat.
Thank you all for your hard work in putting the retreat together.

| NATIVE AMERICAN WISDOM | | Two Wolves An elderly Cherokee Native American was teaching his grandchildren about life... He said to them, "A fight is going on inside me, it is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One wolf is evil -- he is fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, competition, superiority, and ego. The other is good---he is joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too." They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old Cherokee simply replied: "The one you feed."
