| OFFICER GREETING! | |
Dear SEN Members, This was a good month. We do seem to be getting guests. We were able to recruit 4 new members. Let's work together to continue inviting guests and encouraging membership. The scholarship grant for a junior or senior college student is a real plus that this organization offers to encourage the idea of joining a national organization that has more than just networking. If you know anyone who could benefit, please have them talk to an officer of SEN. Don't get me wrong, networking is a strong part of what we do. Joining gives more strength to your networking. It encourages bonding. Bonding brings trust which brings clients. April is our month to sell tickets to our fund raiser. Our fund raiser this year is the SEN Beer Tasting - Not Just for Girls event. This puts money in our account and allows us to do more things for our members. Every year we contribute to national foundation to be able to offer the scholarship grant. When we do have a strong budget there are many more ways we can support the education of women. The SEN Tasting Beer Tasting Not Just for Girls will be a fun event and it offers another way to bond with members and all the guests we bring. We can also recruit new members. If you are a member, I encourage you to attend meetings. This is the way for us to get to know you. This bonding experience is good for business and long-lasting friendships. To put yourself out there and really make a presence, I encourage you to become an officer. You are given more time to speak at the meetings. This makes you more recognizable. Being an officer does not impact your schedule that much. Please feel free to ask any of the SEN officers questions. See you at the next meeting,

How To Create Your Own Social Universe:
The Mis sing 90% to Getting Results!
by Kurt Wilhelm
The Social-Universe presentation will begin by creating context for the standard Social Media suite (Facebook, Fanpage, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and a Blog), and will explain why this standard suite only comprises 10% of a comprehensive Social Media program. The missing 90% is essential to create an effective Social Media program with measurable results. Nearly all Social Media packages do not include this missing 90%, which often renders them useless. Come to this event and find out how your Social Media plan can become effective, measurable, and even dominating.
Kurt Wilhelm is the CEO of the Social-Universe and the President of its sister company ISD Consulting. He is an accomplished Social Media Advertiser, combining the traditional forms of media within the Social Media platform.

The ABWA mission: To bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition | FINANCE REPORT
| | Janet Maxwell, VP of Finance
Spring has arrived and seeds are being planted. SEN planted their seeds and, as a result, we have grown by four new members last month. Welcome to Charlynn, Norma, Nancy, and Hedy. Wouldn't it be nice to grow by four new members every month?
Our beer tasting is coming up very shortly and, with the money we make, we will be able to do so much more for our members. We would like to have the funds to promote attendance at various ABWA functions, including Leadership, Round-Up, Spring Conference, and the National Women's Leadership Conference. All of these events will provide information on ABWA and the benefits of being a member, and will widen your horizon while you make new friends and business contacts.
If we make enough money, we will be able to sponsor Business Skills Reimbursement for next year so that any of our members taking classes to keep their business skills up to date (but are not going for a degree) may be reimbursed a portion of their expenses. Donna Tucker has taken advantage of this in the past so, if you have any questions, talk to her about it.
This year we are once again sponsoring one outstanding woman for a grant. This is furnished by our national association through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund and we have given grants in two previous years. These are for women attending a four year accredited school going into their junior year or beyond, including their Master's. For more information, contact Donna Pontorno.
This is only a small sample of what is afforded ABWA members, but is a start. If you have any questions, talk to one of the seasoned members in SEN for more information, read the Women in Business magazine you receive, or go to WIN on the ABWA website.
