Full Fall Mode Oct - 2010
| |
We're in full Fall mode here at the salon now, feeling the spirit of the new season! The leaves are changing colors before they drop, reminding us of the beauty of aging and the promise of renewal. The wind is picking up its pace, but if you dress accordingly, you can enjoy its enlivening energy. Although we sometimes resist it, change is often for the better. Speaking of which, We have a few personnel changes to announce and invite you to see our picture essay on the transformations taking place here at the salon. We also hope to inspire you to change the way you make appointments, to try a new hairstyle and a fragrant new addition to your bathing ritual. Some positive developments in September inspired us to tend to our new growth: we were featured in a top business publication andI was pleased to be a panelist at an event that's all about changing our perception of our hair and ourselves. |

Transformations
| |

I've always been fascinated by transformations, especially dramatic ones like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. We have some pretty awesome transformations that occur at Khamit Kinks on a daily basis. So we've put together another montage of some we've helped to achieve in 2010. Check them out. Nappy Snappy Twist Correction
Last month we featured the Nappy Snappy Twist style as a less expensive option to the Baby Curl Twist. We later noticed the wrong price was listed for this style. It was listed as $375.00 and it's actually $325.00, just so you know.

Fall Happenings | Two Dolls
|
September was a busy month. Though I was not one of the producers of Heads Up this year, I was honored to be a panelist at the Heads Up/HAIRitage celebration. What fun we had that night! I thought nothing could top last year, but this year was just as fab. I aptly name the photo above Two Dolls, because the live doll is one of the special audience members in attendance on that special night. Click here to see more pics from the celebration.
First, due to inclimate weather 'Straight Talk About Our Hair' was postpone from September to October. Then because of a scheduling conflict I will be unable to be a part of the panel . But if you can check it out, please do so and tell me your thoughts. Don't delay your registration, because Straight Talk About Our Hiar is tomorrow.

Salon Update
Taeisha Black
Congrats to Taeisha as she takes on a new role as Consultant and Floor Manager! This means she'll be much more accessible to you when you're in the salon having your hair done. Melody will be holding it down as the new head person at reception, while continuing her role as tech-troubleshooter/systems and software guru.
We have a new member to our admin staff. Her name is Davie-Ann. You may have the opportunity to speak with Davie-Ann when you call to make your next appointment. It is my hope that you will give her a chance to get to know you and not say, "Is Taeisha there, can I speak to Taeisha'? The answer will probably be 'no' because, as we've said, Taeisha has moved to the proverbial corner office. Congratulations Taeisha and Melody! Welcome Davie-Ann.

The Peace of Mind of Pre-booking
I really don't mean to sound like a broken record. But believe me when I tell you, if I'm re-visiting a topic, it's because there cause for it. So here we go...
One way to really have the Stylist you want on the day and time of your preference is to book in advance. You know that tried and true method that your Dentist uses of scheduling your next appointment before you leave their office? It works like a charm! Some clients get this and never have to worry about their favorite Stylist being booked and unavailable. We appreciate your cooperation on this matter.
Other clients prefer not to pre-book, saying they don't know what their schedule will be in the future weeks or months. What often happens is that time flies by and the next thing they know, they really need to have their hair done but their favorite Stylist is now unavailable. Attempting to squeeze you into the schedule becomes a stressful experience for all concerned.
Please consider the peace of mind that comes with pre-booking your appointment. Put it in on your calendar and, voila! that's one less thing you have to think about.
