Each site has a "theme" for their gift baskets.
Spring: GARDENING.
Ideas: tools, windchimes, decorative items, and flowers.
Fort Bend: TEXAS Ideas: coffee mugs, decorative items, placemats, Texas wine, use your imagination. Hockley has several themes: Kitchen, Italian Cooking, Chocolate, Pets, Coffee, did I mention Chocolate?
Each site has a place to collect these items and forms so that we can acknowledge your donation. |

What is Boots and Bonnets?

The Boots and Bonnets Charity Gala is one of SIRE's major fundraisers. We are planning a spectacular night of live music, dancing, fine foods, auction treasures and much, much more! This very special night is a salute to years of hope and healing through therapeutic horseback riding and related therapeutic activities for thousands of Houston area children and adults with disabilities.
This year it is May 7th at Sam Houston Race Park. The doors will open at 4:30 so you may watch the Kentucky Derby on simulcast, or join us at 6:00 for the rest of the festivities.

Why does SIRE hold this event?
|
The difference between the cost of providing our services and the tuition fee paid by clients is over $100 per session - We must raise money to "fill the gap". And many clients do not pay the full tuition fee, last year 17% of our clients were paying less than the normal fee.

How can I help?

You can directly contribute to the success of this event by donating an item or items to the live and/or silent auction. If you are a client or volunteer, each site is collecting items to be put into gift baskets; see list on the left for themes and suggestions.
Ask at your favorite restaurant for a gift certificate, or other businesses you frequent - the forms are on the SIRE website and available at each site.
We need sports events, artwork, gift certificates, time share weeks.
Attend the event - full information about the gala is on our website. Purchase a table or individual tickets. Put on your "Derby Best" attire and join us for a night to remember!
You can volunteer - we will need a limited number of volunteers to help with setup on May 7th and that evening. If you volunteer for at least 4 hours that day you will be able to attend the festivities at no charge. Sign-up sheets will be posted at each site in April.
Crafters - clean out your closet! Bring any of the following items to SIRE and leave in the auction donation basket (items will NOT be returned). We don't even need long or large amounts. A 6- or 12-inch piece will do. Colors needed: Black, silver, red, white, black and white.
- cording, ribbon, trim, tassels
- feathers, sparklies/rhinestones, beads
- crystal or glass drops (like you might see on a chandelier)
- red votive cups
- submersible floralytes, bricks of Oasis foam- medium hard
With everyone's help we can make this event the most successful ever!
