Evaluation 2010 To Do
Sign up today for Thursday "Nights Out" :Would you like to experience a side of San Antonio outside of the hotel and convention space? Working with a great team of volunteers, we've put together a range of nights out for Thursday evening, November 11. These are excursions out into the city, with a host and a small group, to see a show, have a great dinner, or dance the night away. Each is filled on a first-come, first-served basis and most will fill up - you should sign up today to ensure your first choice.  All information and signups may be found online at: http://www.eval.org/eval2010/10NightsOut.htm

Serve as a session scribe:Is there a specific session that you just can't wait to attend? We'd like to do a series of aea365 posts - our tip-a-day alerts by and for evaluators - on lessons learned at the annual conference. As a contributor, you would attend a specific session of your choice and write up your lessons learned, hot tips, and great resources identified from the session in a page or less. aea365 posts are positive and informative - these are not session critiques but rather peer-to-peer sharing through which those who could not attend the session may learn vicariously. If you would like to participate, please review the online conference program at http://www.eval.org/search10/search.asp, write down the session names and numbers for a first and second choice session for which you would like scribe, and send an email this week to Susan Kistler in the AEA office at susan@eval.org with your first and second choices.

Check out first time attendee advice: Is this your first time attending Evaluation 2010? We've collected advice for first-time attendees and compiled it at http://aea365.org/blog/?p=1925

Review the online conference program: When you check in at the AEA Registration Desk in San Antonio, you will receive a hardcopy program that includes the titles and presenters for every session with cross-referenced indexes. However, the hardcopy does not include the extensive abstracts and descriptions that you can find online nor is it searchable by keyword. We strongly encourage you to take time in advance to review the online program and identify sessions that you are passionate about attending http://www.eval.org/search10/search.asp.

Bring your resume or position description:If you are seeking an evaluation position, consultant or employee, the Evaluation 2010 Career Boards are the place to look! The Career Boards may be found near the AEA registration desk and are there for you to share your own position and resume listings and to peruse to identify available positions or potential career opportunities. Learn more about the career boards online at: http://www.eval.org/eval2010/10careerboards.htm
