The Task Force on Cultural Competence in Evaluation, Diversity Committee, American Evaluation Association (AEA) is seeking your input, guidance and feedback on the draft AEA Public Statement on Cultural Competence in Evaluation.
Over the past 5 years, an AEA Diversity Committee Task Force on Cultural Competence in Evaluation has been working to create a public statement on cultural competence in evaluation. This statement affirms the importance of cultural competency in evaluation practices and informs readers of AEA's expectations for culturally competent evaluation.
Previous drafts of the Statement have been reviewed by numerous AEA members and committees, including the Diversity Committee, Public Affairs Committee, Multiethnic Issues in Evaluation Topical Interest Group, and the Public Engagement Team (see the Statement Acknowledgments for a more complete list of individuals and committees who have reviewed and commented on the Statement).
Now that the Statement has gone through several rounds of review, the Task Force on Cultural Competence in Evaluation would like the AEA membership to comment on the Statement. Your review and comments will inform the next iteration of the Statement, which will be submitted to the Board in November 2010 for its full review and feedback to the Task Force. Please sign in to the AEA website, review the Public Statement available there, and provide your feedback on or before Wednesday, September 8, 2010, using the link below.
