Positive Energy Tip
LogoColorNoText Year End Review

This is the time of year when we typically set goals for the coming year. And although goals excite and motivate us to achieve what we long for, it is also important to take stock of the the past twelve months as we approach the new year.

What did you set out to do in 2009? What accomplishments are you most proud of? What have you learned? How have you grown? What did you intend to do, but didn't get done? What challenges did you face during the past year, and how did you deal with them? What are you most grateful for as you review the past year? Who loved and supported you and how can you thank or honor them? And finally, what would you like to be different next year?

Although it may seem like a daunting task to do such a thoughtful analysis of the year that is just about over, examining where you have been and where you are going is
is an excellent way to get the new year off to a great start and make it the best one ever!

During the next two weeks, set aside 20-30 minutes to conduct your own year end review. Reflect on the following questions and write your responses in your journal or on your computer:

What did I set out to do in 2009?
What accomplishments am I most proud of?
What have I learned?
How have I grown?
What did I intend to do, but didn't get done?
What challenges did I face during the past year, and how did I deal with them?
What am I most grateful for as I review the past year?
Who loved and supported me and how can I thank or honor them?
What would I like to be different next year?

By examining the direction your life is taking, you can use the opportunity to make changes that will get you where you want to be. And if you haven't been keeping a journal, now is an excellent time to start. At the end of 2010, it will be fun to read back over your journal and see what you have accomplished in one short year.
