Creative friends,

Happy Summer! We hope you're on a beach reading this! It is so important to slow down, take a deep breath, and recharge your "creative batteries." We know that for many of you this was a tough year. We're feeling very optimistic about the coming year and hope to be here "by your side" with encouragement, free colorful posters, and inspirational tools - like Animation-ish and Stationery Studio - to get those around you expressing themselves. We've got more great news to share, so take a sip of iced tea and savor another edition of the FableFlash.

Your friend on the journey,

Words And Their Stories™:
Spotlight
Word of the
Month
Accolade comes from the French accoler, meaning "to embrace," which has its origins in the Italian verb accollare, meaning "to embrace around the neck." When a soldier was made a knight, part of the ceremony involved this act of embracing him around the neck. Today, accolade does not refer to a literal embracing around the neck, but to what this embrace represents. Now you know that accolade means "an expression of approval; a special acknowledgment, honor, or award; to praise."
