Welcome back, friends!
Only 60-ish days till spring! We're shivering here in frosty Boston and dreaming of those warmer days to come. For our friends in warmer climes, please bottle up some warmth and send our way! Hey, that would be a good story, yes? "Bottle of Sunshine," by Peter H. Reynolds. I have my "story radar" switched on all the time. I encourage kids (and grown up kids) to do the same. I love words and stories, as you know, so in this "ish" of the FableFlash, we've packed in some goodies to spark the same passion for loving words and storytelling.
I'll be busy traveling with the FVL team in the coming months doing keynotes and workshops, so perhaps our paths will cross. If not, know that we're never far away and if you want to "hang out" with me, just crack open one of my books or fire up one of our software tools and I'll be right there!
Also, we'd love to connect with you on Twitter - follow us at FableLearn.
Your friend on the mission,

(and the FableVision Learning team)

Want to Renovate Your Classroom?
|
|
It's a new year - looking for an easy way to renovate your classroom? Add a little color to your wall with this new poster from Peter H. Reynolds!
This poster shares the derivation of the word "renovate," one of over 1,000 words featured in Get A Clue, our innovative web-based vocabulary program. Get A Clue uses the patented WATS™ ("Words and Their Stories") system to engage students with the stories behind words. Students use critical thinking skills to develop a thorough understanding of each word. Use this poster to get your kids curious about words - where do they come from, and what do they mean?

We Now Offer Wacom® Drawing Tablets!
|
|
FableVision Learning is happy to announce our new partnership with Wacom. If you've seen Peter H. Reynolds using our Animation-ish™ program, you've seen him using a Wacom drawing tablet. For years, Peter has raved about this wonderful tool. According to Peter, "Drawing without a tablet, i.e. drawing with a mouse, is like drawing with your feet." Once you've tried a tablet, there's no going back. We're thrilled to offer Wacom Bamboo™
Tablets bundled with Animation-ish or sold separately.

|
|
At FableVision Learning, we have always emphasized the power of storytelling. Empower your students to share their stories with the FableVision Learning Story-Starter - a gift from our Make Your Mark Professional Development Program! You may know it by design as a "paper fortune teller," or "cootie catcher," but instead of giving a fortune, our playful and easy-to-make tool asks questions to get students writing.
Click here to download and print the Story-Starter PDF. Just cut it out, fold, and start playing to get inspired!
Our professional development workshops help teachers inspire kids to tell their stories through writing and animation. To learn more about our workshops, click here.
