Community Impact Forum Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits is offering grantseekers a great opportunity to build their grantwriting skills on April 26. This one-day event offers two unique sessions. The first will provide grantseekers the opportunity to meet face-to-face with five local funders and learn about their giving interests. The afternoon session will be an in-depth look at the nonprofit financial system and will help organization's better tell their financial story. Register today! 

Serve-A-Thon brings together 1,000 corporate, civic, and individual volunteers for a day of hands-on community service on April 28. Working in partnership with Community Service Partners, HandsOn Greater Phoenix trains and mobilizes teams of volunteers to revitalize school campuses, paint murals, landscape, host fairs, and much more. Volunteers gather pledges and raise money to continue the work of HandsOn throughout the year. Register as an individual volunteer or gather your friends and co-workers to sign up as a team!
 
State Arts Commission Reauthorized for 10 Years Governor Brewer signed into law the re-authorization of the Arizona Commission on the Arts for 10 more years. This will perpetuate the statewide support of arts and arts education in Arizona communities provided by the Commission. Read more about this decision here.

In the spirit of Sumi'nangwa... The Hopi Foundation is part of an exciting online fundraising campaign to bring funds to nonprofits addressing high-priority issues for communities of color. W. K. Kellogg Foundation is sponsoring and will match each dollar raised. The Hopi Foundation's goal is to raise $100,000. The fundraiser runs from April 17-26. So, in the spirit of Sumi'nangwa, meaning "to come together to do activities for the benefit of all" learn more or donate today.

 

Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Appoints Judy Jolley Mohraz to Board of Trustees Judy Jolley Mohraz is the current president and CEO of Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust and was recently appointed as a trustee. Says Mohraz "I'm touched and tremendously honored by this appointment-serving the Trust is truly a privilege. I am grateful for the collective wisdom and work of the trustees and Trust staff who are so dedicated to carrying out Virginia's wishes every day." Press release available here.

 

Community Foundation for Southern AZ was featured in Inside Tucson Business to show off the charitable side of Southern Arizona. The article explains the many hats that CFSA wears as advisor, educator, tax consultant, conduit and administrator while supporting donors. CEO, Clint Mabie self-describes CFSA as the "one-stop-shop for managing philanthropy." Read the article here
