Grantmaking in Aging Initiative Update -In January 2011, with financial support from Grantmakers in Aging and four AGF members, AGF launched at two-year EngAGEment project. The goal is to provide funders with timely information and resources relating to the issues of older adults and ultimately to build partnerships with nonprofits and government agencies that serve older adults, in order to maximize the collective positive impact of their efforts.
Our second EngAGEment project program, "Elders Living on the Edge: Where does Arizona stand on elder economic security?" was held September 21. The event featured national and local speakers, and explored the rising problem of senior economic insecurity to provide attendees with a clear understanding of the issues, and discuss how funders can most effectively leverage their assets to address them.
Check out our YouTube channel to view highlights from the event's keynote speaker, Ramsey Alwin, Director of the Economic Security Initiative for the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and Clarence Carter, Director of the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES).
