Defining Evaluation in Philanthropy
On May 26th, AGF partnered with Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO) and Innovation Network to present Building the Evaluative Capacity of Grantees, a half-day workshop for funders in Arizona. The feedback from our members was extremely positive, and it was truly an interactive learning experience for all who attended. Check out these video highlights from Innovation Network's presentation on building capacity for evaluation and learning.

AGF Members Respond to AZ Wildfiresfirefighters

Arizona Community Foundation

Give to the ACF Disaster Relief Fund- The ACF Disaster Relief Fund collects and manages the gifts of Arizonans during times of disaster, both in Arizona and around the country. Currently, the Fund is accepting gifts in support of the Arizona Wildfires of 2011. Grants will be awarded from the Fund to support both emergency needs and long-term community re-building. Distributions are overseen by a committee of expert staff and community volunteers. Thank you for your generosity and support of our neighbors in need.

Make a tax-deductible gift to the ACF Disaster Relief Fund.

 

United Way of Northern Arizona

Wallow Fire Fund

United Way of Northern Arizona (UWNA) is deeply concerned about the families impacted by the devastating fires in Northeast Arizona.  Many evacuees will incur expenses that will create economic hardship and that in the aftermath of the fire many families will need help restoring their lives. For these reasons,  UWNA has established the Wallow Fire Fund to provide individual assistance to people impacted by the fire.

 

Funds will be distributed in accordance with UWNA standards insuring funds will be directed to qualifying agencies which provide direct assistance to families. 100% of funds collected will be distributed.

 

To donate, visit our website at www.nazunitedway.org. Click on Donate Now, select a payment option and select "Wallow Fire Fund" from the drop-down menu under the heading of Designations.

Rural Policy Forum in August will link nonprofits to grantmakers

The Arizona Rural Development Council (AZRDC) is now taking on-line reservations for the 2011 Rural Policy Forum "Linking Rural Arizona to Grantmakers." Rural nonprofit organizations are invited to register on-line at azrdc.org for the 5th annual event scheduled for August 11-12, at the Black Canyon Conference Center in Phoenix. Read More

 

The New Tucson Literacy Movement

Grant Applications Available for Yuma Nonprofits

The Yuma Community Foundation is asking Yuma's nonprofit organizations to send in applications to participate in its 2011 Competitive Grant Cycle. Applications will be accepted from July 15 through Aug. 16, and must be sent online at azfoundation.org/grants
