The North Port EDC board of directors held its first annual retreat on 7/13/12 at Warm Mineral Springs and is enthusiastically moving ahead with clarity of its mission and purpose - to encourage collaboration for a positive economic future for North Port.

One of the ways we're working toward that future is through the Community Initiatives, and you'll have the chance to learn more about progress on the Warm Mineral Springs project in this issue.

These activities and more are being driven by the Board with input from the North Port EDC's investors and Advisory Board. A membership campaign is currently underway to grow the numbers of those individuals, businesses, and organizations who wish to join us in making that future a reality.

If you are already a supporter, we sincerely thank you for being a partner in our vision and encourage those of you who are looking for ways to become involved to contact us to get started.

FPL Hosts ED Seminar

The economic development process has never been more competitive. Communities must be prepared to successfully vie for new projects, as well as retain existing companies. Playing to Win in Economic Development will address the site selection process and highlight the corporate expectations for local government officials and volunteers.
This seminar will provide a better understanding of the corporate site selection process, and how the local site and community can enhance its standing with site selection consultants and decision makers.
