2013 Comhaltas Ceoltoírí Éireann North American Province Annual Convention

 

The 2013 Comhaltas Ceoltoírí Éireann (CCE) North American Province Annual Convention will take place in Bethesda, MD, sponsored by the local O'Neill Malcom Branch of CCE. The hotel selected is the North Bethesda Marriott - check out their web site.

 

The entrance is about 50 yards from the White Flint Metro stop, just off Rockville Pike.This coming Sunday, May 6th, there will be a meeting at the hotel from 3PM-5PM which will include a tour of the facility. The branch organizers need volunteers to help with the various programs they will be hosting so please consider this your invitation to attend.

Sixth Annual

European Union Open House, Saturday, 12th May

  

The Delegation of the European Union to the United States and the Embassies of the 27 EU Member States to the United States will open their doors to the Washington public during the EU Embassies' Open House Day.

 

This annual event is a highlight of the Washington May calendar and is celebrated during Europe Week, Each embassy will open to the public from 10 am until 4 pm on Saturday, May 12, 2012.

 Embassy Invites Nominations for Presidential Distinguished Service Award for the Irish Abroad

 

The Embassy of Ireland in Washington D.C. is pleased to invite submission of nominations for the Presidential Distinguished Service Award for the Irish Abroad. 

  

The awards are primarily aimed at Irish citizens, those entitled to Irish citizenship and persons of Irish descent, who have made a sustained and distinguished service to Ireland or Irish communities abroad.  It is expected that the first awards will be presented by the President of Ireland in October/ November 2012.

    

Nominations should be submitted to the Embassy's Press & Information Section, for receipt by no later than 5 p.m. US EST on Monday, May 21st 2012 and may be sent either by regular mail or via the following e-mail address: washingtonembassy@dfa.ie.
