Designed for children ages 6-12, the festival is the largest - and most diverse in the country, and is offered through the cooperation of 27 EU embassies and more than 25 major cultural institutions. Batt Burns: The King with Horse's Ears and other Irish folktales
Growing up in the emerald green hills of Kerry, Batt Burns learned the craft of storytelling from his grandfather, a master seanachie (storyteller).
Steeped in the twin customs of storytelling and verse - a key element of the seanachie's repertoire - Batt was fascinated by this world of words. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, he, too, was inspired to become a seanachie. Today, Batt draws on his powerful childhood experiences to authentically recreate the rich traditions of Irish folklore.
