Dear Imagine Families,

ConstitutionDay

We have a busy week ahead of us. On Monday we'll celebrate Constitution Day.  On Tuesday we look forward to our Open House.  Your child will have the opportunity to show you their school.

Don't forget that we have our first Early Release on Wednesday at 1pm.  Students will have lunch at school.  The staff will begin fall parent conferences that afternoon.

Thank you for the many offers to take care of pressure washing our picnic tables!

If you have an 8 foot ladder we can borrow, it would be appreciated.  Mr. Louis has some maintenance work that requires a ladder.

Don't forget to sign up to be a volunteer for this school year!  A reminder to parents that siblings are not allowed to accompany parents on field trips, while volunteering in the classroom, or during classroom parties.

Bus Driver: We are in need of back up drivers or substitute drivers.  If you have a CDL license and are interested in being a bus driver, please contact theresa.reed@imagineschools.com  .

Open House
OpenHouseMark your calendar!

Our Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, September 18th from 5:30-7pm.  This is an evening for your child to share their classroom with you.  It is a social evening, and not intended for conferencing.

Bus News
Bus
Wednesday is an early release day.  Please check the bus schedule to know the scheduled bus times.

We have several students picked up by outside daycares.  Please be sure to let them know    about the Early Release Day on Wednesday.

We still don't have a back up driver, so when a driver is out, we'll be running on the alternate schedule.

Mr. Charlie will be out on Thursday and Friday (September 20th and 21st). Route 3 (bus 4) will be on the alternate schedule.

Fall Festival
FallFestival Plans are underway for our Fall Festival on Friday evening October 19th.  If you can volunteer, please let us know by going to the VolunteerSpot and signing up.

Last year was a tremendous success and we expect an even larger turn out this year!

Why no Siblings?
QuestionOfTheWeek
Several parents have questioned our policy of no siblings when volunteering.

Parents are welcome to bring their siblings during a PTO meeting or activity outside the classroom that does not involve chaperoning or supervising a group of students.

Volunteers in the classrooms are to enhance the learning environment for our students.  Your assistance and support is a valuable resource and we look forward to a wonderful year.

We had great success this past year with the sale of our Yearbook, but we also know many of you did not get a Yearbook because we ran out of copies.  We don't want to see this happen to you next year, so we are starting the sale of our 2012-2013 Yearbook now!

StorybookArt

Come explore the best of children's literature each week through a fun mix of games, drama, reading, and, of course, a take home art-project!

Together we will dive in to the works of Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle, Maurice Sendek and many more -- enjoying their classic stories and trying our hands at their illustration styles. Class will be held on Wednesdays Sept. 19-Nov. 14 (9 sessions) from 3:30-5pm in the Media Center.  (Since September 19th is an early release day, the class will run from 1-2:30 on that day.) Class fee is $90 per child and a snack is included . Space is limited to 10 students. Open to grades K-3.

This after-school enrichment class will be hosted by Ms. Deena Haiber, who has hosted Arts and Crafts of the Seasons at Imagine for the past two years, and is a certified Art Teacher and Library Media Specialist. Please feel free to email her at haiberz@aol.com  with any questions.

OdysseyOfTheMind

Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program."

Parents and students are invited to an informational meeting that will be held on Thursday, September 27th, at 6:00 PM in the school's gym. Ms. Freda Abercrombie, head of the Gulf Coast Region, will be the guest speaker. An informational packet will be distributed.
