Dragon Happenings
Dear Imagine Families,
I did not intend for so many weeks to go by without sending a newsletter. I have been out of the office following the death of my husband earlier this month. My thanks to all who have sent their condolences, kind words and prayers. I'm grateful to be working with so many compassionate people, and am looking forward to getting back into the routine of school. Your children keep me energized.
This issue provides information about our Meet and Greet plans, supplies, instructional staff, our school grade, uniforms and bus information. It also includes several repeat pieces that parents will find informative.
The floors have been waxed and buffed and look beautiful. You can help us keep them that way by avoiding any wheeled carts that leave long drag marks on the floor. We also notice that black soled rubber shoes leave black marks on the floor. When you're shopping for school shoes, please avoid sneakers that leave marks.
Don't forget to sign up to be a volunteer for this school year!
Bus Driver: We are adding a fourth bus next year, and are in need of back up drivers or substitute drivers. If you have a CDL license and are interested in being a bus driver, please contact theresa.reed@imagineschools.com .

Meet and Greet
|  Student assignments will be distributed at the scheduled Meet and Greet, and will not be posted on the lobby wall as initially announced.
August 13- Middle School 4-6pm
August 14- Grades 1-5 4-6pm
August 15- Kindergarten 4-6pm
We will have various information tables set up in the gym for parents to confirm that all immunizations/physicals are current, and that all fees are paid. When this is completed, parents will be given their child's placement.
Fees
1. New students paid all their fees at registration.
2. Elementary returning students have a $20 fee to cover the cost of the planner, Friday folder, and part of the science book costs.
3. Middle school returning students have a $35 fee to cover the cost of their locker fee and the cost of the science book. Parents who paid for their book will be credited that amount and will owe $7 in remaining fees.
Supplies
1. Elementary parents may bring in supplies or write a check to Imagine for $40 and the money will be placed in an account for the teacher to purchase the supplies as needed.
2. Middle school students keep their supplies with them, and turn in only 2 reams of copy paper and construction paper.
Immunizations
Students will not be allowed to begin school unless all immunizations are up to date. Kindergarten and grade 7 students have specific immunizations that are required. Information on the specific requirements are provided here.
Spirit Shirts
Club Air will provide spirit shirts for purchase for your convenience.
Before/After Care
Registration and information will be available.
Bus Information
A fourth bus will be added this year and will provide for those students on 54 in Wesley Chapel (Westbrook, Lexington Oaks, Grand Oaks and Stagecoach) The bus routes will be posted on the website. Please note that the times are a little earlier since school will begin at 8:50 this year.

We Did it Again!
|  Imagine Land O Lakes has achieved an "A" grade from the state for the 2011-2012 school year! This is our second year we made this designation. CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who made this possible including faculty, families, students, our governing board, district staff, and the entire Imagine Team for believing in us and supporting us from the beginning. Not only does it take a village to raise a child... it takes a village to raise a school and we appreciate each and every one of you! |
Supplies
|  We've made a concerted effort to limit the amount of dollars parents need to spend on supplies this year. Supply lists for grades K-5 are listed below. Parents have the option of purchasing the supplies or writing a check for $40 to Imagine School and the dollars will be allocated to your child's teacher supply account.
The middle school supply list can be found here and will be posted on the website. Middle school students are expected to come to class prepared with all their supplies.

Imagine Teachers
|  All our classroom positions have been filled, and I believe you'll be excited by the roster of exceptional talent. Student schedules and classroom assignments will be distributed during the Meet and Greet evenings.
This year we are transitioning to grade level teams. With the exception of one team in first grade, elementary students will have two teachers. The schedule provides for all students at a grade level to have lunch, recess and PE at the same time. It's going to be a great year!!

Parent Feedback
|  Each school year brings the opportunity to review and refine our policies and procedures. I invite our returning parents to complete the attached survey that includes topics that were raised last year.

Middle School Electives
|  Our middle school students signed up for their elective(s) in the spring before school ended. If you have not already done so, please return the Middle School Electives form with your desired elective choices to the office.
If you did not receive the elective form, please click here to download it. You may also email it to Mrs. Kilmer at breanne.kilmer@imagineschools.com. Decisions regarding elective placements depend on many factors (FCAT scores, teacher input, etc.), therefore students are not guaranteed their first choice in elective placement. In many cases, first come first serve will apply. |
Immunizations
|  Students must be up to date on all vaccinations in order to start school in August. Please schedule a visit with your child's doctor before the start of school.

We had great success this past year with the sale of our Yearbook, but we also know many of you did not get a Yearbook because we ran out of copies. We don't want to see this happen to you next year, so we are starting the sale of our 2012-2013 Yearbook now! | Yearbook Club Application |  The Yearbook Club (yes, club!) for 7th and 8th grade this year will be offered at 8:00am each morning. In order to be considered for part of the Yearbook Staff, you will need to complete an application and return it to the front office by July 31, 2012. Please click here for the application.
Mrs. Kilmer plans to interview students during the first week of school, and will have the Yearbook Staff chosen by the second week of school. Each student will be assigned to two work days (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday), and will be expected to be at school by 8:00am each week on these days. Fridays of each week will be an optional day, or in some cases, a required make-up day as needed.
Being a part of the Yearbook Staff is a great experience. Students get to create their very own piece of history! It also requires a lot of dedication and organization.
