Family Crisis Center, by the numbers:

297- the number of survivors and  children that were provided a safe, healing place to stay.

9,452- the number of nights of shelter that were provided to those in need.

2,570- the number of women, children, and men who received counseling in our program to help break the cycle of abuse in their lives.

1,136- the number of crisis hotline calls answered; providing immediate safety and compassion to those in need.

4,427- the number of community members who were educated on the topic of domestic violence and teen dating violence.

Without a doubt, we could not have done this without the generosity and support of the community.  The funds from the Roses in Winter Ball allow us to continue to focus our other funds on providing these direct services to families in crisis.

Special Thanks to
Julie Henley at
Christopher & Banks and CJ Banks
in Animas Valley Mall for offering 10% off of all purchases for customers who donated a food item to Marge's Place.  Thanks!!!

Help Spread Awareness About Domestic Violence

*Wearing a purple ribbon all year round.  If people ask why you wear a purple ribbon, begin the conversation about domestic violence.

*Talk to friends, family members, co-workers, and anyone who will listen about domestic violence.  Help break the silence in our community.

*Forward this email to anyone you think may be interested.

Did you know?
Domestic violence rates in San Juan County are triple the national average.

Domestic violence is everyone's business.  It could be happening in families that you know.  Unfortunately, domestic violence has no boundaries.  It affects people of all socioeconomic statuses, ethnicities, ages, and educaitonal backgrounds.

Help plant the seeds for safe families by talking to neighbors, friends, and community members about domestic violence and help break the silence.
