OPEN LATE on Friday Nights beginning Friday, June 1st!

We are excited to announce that beginning on Friday, June 1st we will be staying open late! We will be closing each Friday night at 8:00pm for those of you who can't make it here before we normally close at 6pm.  Admission will be the regular cost of $5.50 per person.

Closed all Mondays
Tuesday-Thursday 10am-6pm
Fridays 10am-8pm
Saturdays 10am-6pm
Sundays 1pm-5pm

We really LOVE our Jr. Volunteers and want to get them all settled into the Summer Volunteer Program at the discovery center!

If you have a child 12-16 years old who would like to lend a helping hand at the discovery center then this orientation is for him or her!  Please plan to attend our Jr. Volunteer Orientation program where each Jr. Volunteer will learn all about the discovery center, our expectations and how to sign up for their volunteer time. What a great way to "give back" all while having fun and maybe earning some great community service hours!  Please download the Jr. Volunteer Application and bring the completed form to orientation with you.  Also, be sure to let us know that you are coming by emailing Kim Walker.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact her at 985-340-9150. Saturday, May 19 from 6:30pm-10:00pm

The "Almost Sleepover" is our kid drop-off event where parents get a night out!  Children have a great night of fun in the discovery center playing games, doing crafts, having dinner AND participating in a community service project. This Almost Sleepover we will be focusing on giving back of our time and talents to our Armed Forces Soldiers who are overseas by bringing items for care packages as well as writing cards/letters and making crafts for the soldiers.  We invite girl and boy scouts to contact us for group rates and badge information!

The fee is $20 per child ($15 for members) and registration is required by calling 985-340-9150 or emailing Kim Walker.

Fridays from 10-11am
We have been having so much fun in our "Toddler Time" sessions! Special thanks to our very own Ms. Baylie for helping to coordinate and to the Early Childhood Education Teacher Candidates from Southeastern's Teaching & Learning Department for creating such great lessons! Spots are limited! Call to reserve yours! The fee is $10 per session for non members (or a discount of $36 for the entire month!). The fee is $8 per session for members (or a discount of $30 for the entire month!).

One of our great partners, LPB (Louisiana Public Broadcasting) is at it again! They'll be sponsoring a special activity for you on Friday, June 8 as we have a showing of Super Why! Around the World Adventure! Get a first look at this program not scheduled to be released until mid-June!  "With the Power to Read" join the characters of Super Why! on this Around the World Adventure!
