A Great Night for you and your teacher friends!
We've got an exciting night of science fun this Saturday, September 17 from 6-9pm and invite our teacher friends to come out for a spaghetti dinner and some fun new science ideas for your classroom!
If booked by a member, your group of 4 teacher can be admitted for $50 and if booked by a non-member your group of 4 receives admission for $70. Please call 985-340-9150 or email Kim Walker for more information or to register!

Your Path to the National Spelling Bee Goes Through the Discovery Center!
 We're so excited to be the 17 parish regional sponsor for the National Spelling Bee! The winner of the LCDC Spelling Bee will advance to the Sripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC with an all expenses paid trip for the champion and one adult chaperone.

It's a Shel-A-Bration
 Who doesn't love Shel Silverstein? This amazingly fun, whimsical children's author & illustrator will be celebrated on Friday, September 23 at the discovery center. With fun stations of Shel's favorite elements of poetry, guest readers and more children & teachers will really enjoy getting a taste of this fun day! Admission is only $5 and we invite our teacher friends to come after school to enjoy the fun and gain some new ideas for your classroom. Please share this event with your students, friends & family!

 We're joining Nickelodeon for their Annual Worldwide Day of Play to inspire & motivate children to get outside and PLAY! On Saturday, September 24 we will have a variety of fun activities going on and would like to invite you to join us! Please help spread the word, too.
