School's Back in Session! 

As you know we were closed last week to install a new exhibit, spruce up, do some painting and maintenance. Thank you for your patience and understanding! 

 


School has begun for most students and with that comes routine, schedules and an overall sense of returning to the 'norm'.  We've had a great first summer at the discovery center and look forward to many more!

If you are a teacher and planning for your field trips this year please be sure to contact us for your field trip package!
Adopt-a-Pet!
Tangi Animal Control Tuesday, August 16 from 10am-12pm

We're so happy to have the Tangipahoa Parish Animal Control with us tomorrow to share these cute dogs & cats with us.  You can take home a new pet!

Cute pup!Dogs: $60 includes adoption, spay/neuter, 1st vaccinations including a rabies shot.

Cats: $50 includes adoption, spay/neuter, 1st vaccinations & rabies shot.

Style Your Tile!
Thursday, August 18 from 10am-6pm

Style Your Tile! Have you seen the awesome ceiling tiles in the lobby, hallway or Creation Station? This cool fundraiser for the discovery center gives your family a chance to leave your mark on the discovery center!  All day long on Thursday we'll have the materials available for you to select and style your own tile!  Reservations are not required but very helpful to us.  If you have questions or would like to go ahead and reserve your tile, please contact us at 985-340-9150.

Tiles can be yours for $50 for a 2'x2' tile or $100 for a 2'x4' tile.  Check out this photo album of others that have been done!

We're happy to partner with Dr. Steigler of the Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders to offer an event just for children on the Autism Spectrum and their families.
