July is here! Good ole' hot July. We're planning some serious fun for this month and invite you to take a look. Don't forget that some activities require pre-registration to help us plan better. The Aaron Nigel Smith concert was a blast and we are so proud to have had him visit with us. Be sure to check out the photo album and the videos from the night! Celebrate 4th of July
|  Friday, July 1, 2011 - ALL DAY!
Join us on Friday as we kick-off this great holiday weekend! We've got some crazy science, art & parade fun planned for all throughout the day. Indoor fireworks? What?! Yep, that's right! You don't want to miss that or the "Red Rockets Glare" & "Bombs Bursting in Air" activities! Admission will be $1 extra on this extra-fun filled day!

It's that time again! Bring in your Dawn Dish Detergent (at least 24 oz bottle) and Karo Syrup for one free admission to the discovery center!

Tuesday, 7/5 - Thursday, 7/7 from 10:30-12:30pm
 Each day kids will learn basic kitchen fundamentals while preparing lunch and a special treat.
- Tuesday we'll have creative "pocket" sandwiches with lots of fun ingredients and a colorful fruit salad.
- Wednesday will be full of yummy pizza & an ice cream party!
- Thursday includes a "backyard" them with hot dogs & dirt cake!
As a bonus, kids will leave each session with an awesome kitchen tool they used that day so that they can show Mom & Dad what they learned! Come and have some cooking fun with us!
This workshop is geared towards children ages 5 and up and the cost is $75 which includes play for the day, all of the materials plus your take-home kitchen tool for each day (If you would like to come only one day then the fee is $30/child per day. Please call 985-340-9150 or email us to register!

Trash-2-Treasure
|  Wednesday, 7/13 - Friday, 7/15 from 10:30am-12:00pm
This workshop is being offered to teach kids in a really fun, creative atmosphere the benefits of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle". Kids will learn the impact of trash on their environment and what they can do, in their own homes, to help make their own impact. Additionally, kids will take everyday, common trash (like plastic water & soda bottles and plastic shopping bags) items and create unique, interesting things that they can take home. We'll be teaching kids about making "Plarn", making beautiful art projects out of plastic bottles.
This session is limited to 15 children ages 6 and up and the cost for all 3 days is $30 per child (member) or $35 (non-member) and includes all day play, materials and a snack. Pre-registration is required so please call 985-340-9150 or email us.
