Using Scrabble for Literacy!

 It's a bit late notice, I understand, but I couldn't help passing up the opportunity to tell you about this!
We would love to start our very own Scrabble "Club" here at the discovery center and to get the juices flowing about this idea we are hosting a Scrabble-tournament type of activity (next week!!). Please click here to check out the info about this.
We are looking for teams of 4 (at least 2 kids involved in each team) to pick their day and time to come participate. Team registration is $25 and maybe you would like to send a team to represent your classroom?!?

Our First Year (almost, sort of)!
Wow, what we've learned!
 As you may know, we've just opened on October 1, 2010. We have come a long way and have learned a lot! Opening a children's museum is a ton of fun and a ton of work.
We have booked 150 field trips, 351 birthday parties, have 275 members and have had nearly 30,000 visitors! That is amazing, huh?!
We have been completely booked with field trips through the end of this school year for about a month now and are very excited about that but hate to turn teachers away!
Over the summer I will be working on adding to, deleting some things and making some fun additions to our Educational Program Guide. So please keep an eye on our website for the updated EPG. We were excitedly overwhelmed with teachers booking their trips with us but it has booked up quickly so if you would like to come have fun with us again next year, please book your trip early!
So the WHAT'S NEW part... It will be in the updated program guide this summer!
Here's the exciting part... but, SHHHH! (don't tell!) we've got some new health/fitness/wellness exhibits coming this summer! What a great addition to your field trip experience!
