February Fun Contests -Prizes for the one with the most votes!!!

ALL projects must be turned in by 5pm on Wednesday February 16 and be labeled ON THE BACK with child's name, grade, school,
phone number & email address.
 

KIDvention 

"Kidventions" - Find a problem, create an invention to solve that problem. Feel free to recycle old, used items! Write a brief paragraph describing the problem & how your invention solves that problem. Visit Kid Inventor's Day website for inspiration! 

 

Towering Toothpicks 

 

 "Towering Toothpicks" - Every interested child will be given (pick up from LCDC) an equal number of toothpicks.  Create your own structure using toothpicks and any other material you choose. Visit Toothpick City website for ideas!
 

Black History Puppet 

 

"Black History Puppets" - Pick your favorite African American in history and create him/her in the form of a puppet.  Write a brief paragraph sharing who you chose and why. Click here to read more about Black History Month puppet ideas!

Weather Forecaster's DayFebruary 4 - Weather Forecaster's Day

Does your child have a liking for the weather? Join us as Patrick Crawford, Meterologist from WDSU, comes to share some special weather info from 11am - noon. 

Bubble BlastFebruary 5 - BuBbLe BlAsT!

Visit with us from 9-11am on Saturday, Feb 5 and enjoy ONE free admission with every 24 oz bottle of Dawn Dishwashing Detergent (we also welcome any donations of Caro Syrup!) 

Honoring our Scouts!

It's Boy Scouts Day but we're inviting all scouts to enjoy 1/2 price admission when in uniform. 

At 3:30pm you can be a part of an interactive, engaging storytelling of Which Way is Which? by author, Skipper Jenkins!

ScienceDiscovery Science!

We've heard you and we're responding.  Science is a really fun exciting time for kids and we'll be pulling in more science related activities so stay tuned!

February 16 at 3:30pm Join us as we explore the science of a variety of nylon related materials, what they're used for and compare their characteristics.  The Discovery Science idea for the day is "Marvelous Materials".
