Louisiana Children's Discovery Center
"Where families discover a new way to play!"
Giving Back is Fun & Full of Discovery!
Dear Junior Volunteer,
Community Service

Have you been thinking about those community service hours you need to earn? Are you interested in helping in a big way?  Now is your time.  We are in great need for some extra hands around the center during the months of December & January.  Won't you consider being a part of a great community resource? We look forward to seeing our Jr Volunteers.  A Jr Volunteer is someone aged 14 and above who is looking to earn community service hours.

Some fun ways to earn your hours at the Louisiana Children's Discovery Center are:
  • Play with the guests of the discovery center
  • Do an art activity with a child in the Creation Station
  • Arrange gift shop items on shelves
  • Help clean around the center
  • Organize toys/exhibit areas
  • Much, much more!

In order to schedule your community service/volunteer hours,
you MUST meet with Louisiana Children's Discovery Center
staff for a mandatory orientation.  Please download, print and bring this application to the orientation.

We have scheduled this orientation:
Thursday, December 9 at 6:00pm
at the LCDC 113 North Cypress Street - Downtown Hammond
Please email Kim Walker to reserve your spot in the orientation!
If this date does not work for you, please contact us to inquire about a private orientation.

Volunteer Spot is a great way to very easily schedule your hours to best match your availability.  Just follow the link below (or the image above) to go to Volunteer Spot. Sign up (it's free & easy), pick the day, time and area of the museum where you would like to help!
