Greetings!

Are you thinking about taking a fun trip into the children's discovery center? Well here's your guide to help you make your plans! Check out the events below and come out to play!

In recognition of the patriotic events of this week (Marine Corps birthday & Veterans Day) this will be red, white & blue week at the discovery center.

Veterans Day is Thursday, November 11 and at 11:11am we will participate in the national moment of silence. There will also be patriotic themed art activities in the Creation Station as well as the sweet children's hand prints making a red, white & blue American Flag on the window of the Creation Station. Join us for these memorable patriotic activities.

Storytime with the Playologist!

Tuesday, November 2 & Thursday, November 4

Join us for a fun, interactive storytime at 3pm with the Playologist.

The theme for the storytime this week is patriotic stories!
Thursday, November 11: America: A Patriotic Primer by Lynne Cheney

Happy Birthday, Marine Corp!

Wednesday, November 10 at 3:30pm

November 10 is the birthday for the United States Marine Corp so in recognition of that we've invited Marine Sgt. Travis Byrd to come out and meet the children of the discovery center.

Join us after school at 3:30 to meet Sgt. Byrd!

Salty Seas & Friends

This is the story of a Louisiana shrimp boat about Salty Seas and his colorful pals; Sammy Seagull, Patty Pelican and Dottie Dolphin. The friends show they are made of the same stuff as heroes when Captain Charley is knocked overboard.

Children will be captivated by this heart-warming story of Salty Seas and his friends that comes to life on every page.

Rich with customs practiced in every shrimping community, children will learn about hard work, having fun, friendship and the importance of teamwork.
