Budget Talks Underway; Still Much Work to be Done
Budget meetings between the Governor's staff and leadership in both chambers have taken place recently, but without any new documents surfacing.  Several legislators have indicated, though, that both sides are still far apart, while others contend they are getting closer to agreement.

Revenue figures for March will be available the first week of April and it appears that legislators are waiting for them to be released before moving forward.  Regular legislation is expected to be finished first, with work on the budget to be saved for last.
Session Progressing; Sine Die in Just a Few Weeks
The legislative session is nearly over, with just a few weeks.  All committee work is completed and only floor action and the budget remain.

Budget talks picked up yesterday and will continue throughout the remainder of the session.  Meanwhile, lengthy calendars for both the Committee of the Whole and 3rd Read conference committee are expected to begin next week, with sine die projected to occur by April 19.
