Receive National Recognition for County Programs
Is there an innovative program in your county that modernizes services for your residents? Have you considered seeking recognition for this program?

The 2012 NACo Achievement Awards application period is open.  Categories span nearly every corner of county government.  The Achievement Awards Program is a non-competitive program recognizing innovation in county government.  Each entry is judged on its own merits and not against other county programs.

The application deadline is February 13, 2012 at 11:59 p.m., EST.  For more information and to apply, CLICK HERE
Innovations in American Government Awards

The Innovations in American Government Awards is the nation's preeminent program devoted to recognizing and promoting excellence and creativity in the public sector. The program highlights exemplary models of government innovation and advances efforts to address the nation's most pressing public concerns. Since its inception in 1985, the Program has received over 27,000 applications and recognized nearly 500 government initiatives with funding from the Ford Foundation.

The Award is presented by the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation.  Applications are due by March 1.  For more information, CLICK HERE.

Chief Justice to Mark Centennial with Marriage Ceremony

As part of Arizona's centennial celebration, Chief Justice Rebecca White Berch will be performing a marriage ceremony for up to 100 couples on the steps of the state Supreme Court.  The ceremony -- which will be held February 14 -- requires participants to obtain a marriage license ahead of time and inform their county's Clerk of the Superior Court of their intent to participate.  Each Clerk will coordinate with the Maricopa County Clerk of the Superior Court; couples need only to check in by 3:00 p.m. at the Arizona State Courts Building on the day of the event.  The ceremony will begin at 4:00 p.m. and end around sunset (approximately 5:15 p.m.).  Space is limited, and couples must arrange their participation ahead of time.

The wedding ceremony is an official event of the Arizona Centennial Celebration.  For more information, CLICK HERE contact the Clerk of the Superior Court for your county.
