SiteLink Granted SSAE 16(SOC 1) Status.
Following on from last month's lead story - "Is your Data Safe"? SMD Software, Inc., developers of SiteLink Web Edition, has successfully completed the SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type II Certification of internal controls for both SMD Software, Inc., and SiteLink Web Edition.
The in-depth SOC 1 audit replaces SiteLink's older SAS 70 Certifications. SiteLink's SOC 1 report follows the extensive review process by an independent auditing firm accredited by the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). The SOC 1 Certification confirms SiteLink's internal controls of its financial reporting, information technology and other processes. SOC 1 Certifications underscore the commitment to keeping customer data safe and secure.
There are only two Self Storage software brands that are compliant with this new standard: only one of them sold in our region - SiteLink Web Edition.
"We maintain our audits and Certifications to demonstrate our controls for data safety and integrity," said Markus Hecker, SiteLink's Chief Operating Officer. "Our SOC 1 audit adds confidence and peace of mind for our customers all around the world."
Some storage operators are required to use management software carrying SOC 1 Certifications. Other operators choose SiteLink Web Edition based on its certifications. some countries have no certification process or controls, so our latest audit adds confidence for those operators.
"For years, our processes and internal procedures followed SAS 70 Type II standards," said Luke Lenzen, SiteLink's Chief Information Officer. "Our SSAE 16 SOC1 audit replaces SAS 70 to ensure the strongest degree of customers' confidence in our internal controls."
