We have all seen the utter devastation to thousands of people and businesses over the last few weeks over Queensland and some of NSW.
The cleanup task is going to be huge: Since Monday we have been talking with many Self Storage Sites to see how they have faired.
Some not so well. Some sites completely engulfed by water. Many Self Storage customers have been displaced and some missing, so we are told.
Well there's little we can do but expect to help out with computer advice, repairs, support and security etc.
One thing we decided (after speaking with fellow industry colleagues) we could do was to create one list of dry and secure Self storage facilities with space available if needed by victims.
There is no doubt that over the coming months that people will need Storage space and our list is designed to be a simple resource where they can find safe and secure space.
We have already seen some looting and as an industry we should get the message out there that we have secure spaces and Storers goods are insurable.
