Guiding Lights is a private non profit organization dedicated to supporting family and professional caregivers in their roles. We are the comprehensive caregiver support center for the entire Triangle area and we are committed to providing all caregivers:

Information and Referral Meet with one of our referral specialists to receive referrals to service providers that will be able to directly connect caregivers to service providers of excellence in the community.
Lending Library
An area within the center that contains multiple forms of media, to include books, pamphlets, videos, and online access to various resourceful caregiving website.
Awakening
A customized life enrichment program designed for individuals with dementia and their caregivers. This program includes:
- Memory Assistance program with in-home application
- Cognitive Measurement Testing Tools
- Mental Exercise Modules
- Educational Materials
- Private Consultation
Skills Lab
The Skills Lab will be made available to professionals and caregivers who desire to practice clinical procedures before testing to become a CNA1 or who simply need to refresh their skills before re-certification. The lab will also be made availble to family caregivers that would like to learn specific techniques that will assist them in caregiving on a day-to-day basis.
Professional Training
Guiding Lights provides training in such areas as CPR, First Aid, personal care, dementia care, and more. CNA I Training The Guiding Lights Certified Nurse Assistant 1 (CNA1) Training Course will be a North Carolina State approved and regulated comprehensive program which will train individuals to become Level I CNAs. (program application is in progress) CNAs will go through over 90 hours of course study followed by all-encompassing clinical rotations in various different skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and adult day programs to strengthen them in the aspects of long-term care as well as to provide specialized dementia training.
Family Match Program
Our Family Match Program will pair new caregivers with existing caregivers in an effort to alleviate concerns, validate feelings/thoughts, and assist with the ability to cope in a better way.
Support Groups
Family caregiver support groups and professional support groups will be facilitated at the center as well as at nearby community facilities.
Corporate Eldercare Specialists
Guiding Lights provides resource specialists to local corporations as an added benefit to their employees by being onsite at a company's location to directly connect working caregivers to resources in the community.
