In the spirit of Black History month the Atlanta Wood Bat Instructional League (AWBIL) announces they will host a High School All Star game and HBCU All Star Invitational Revue.

Dates of the events:

*June 25- 2011 High School All Star Game-In Honor of the Ole Negro League.

 

June 25-2011 HBCU ALL STAR INVITATIONAL Revue

Both games will be held at Mundy's Mill High School located @ 9652 Fayetteville Road-Jonesboro, Georgia 30238

Tony Macon coach the SWAC/SIAC, Charles Whitaker,Terrence Whittle and Thomas Eaton will lead MEAC/CIAA in the 2nd Annual HBCU Baseball All Star Revue 

Hello Baseball Fans
  
The Atlanta Wood Bat Instructional  League (AWBIL) announces the coaching staff for the 2nd Annual HBCU Baseball  ALL STAR REVUE game on June 25, 2011 at Mundys Mill High School located 9652 Fayetteville Road-Jonesboro Georgia 30238.

Coach Macon is the former assistant coach for the Alabama State University Hornets and a very instrumental member as well as volunteer consultant for the inaugural 2010 HBCU Revue. In furtherance, Coach Macon brings a wealth of experience as a former collegiate pitcher,  quality recruiter, and a fine eye for baseball talent. Coach Macon  will coach a team of players representing the SWAC/SIAC. Charles Whitaker, Head Baseball coach at St. Augustine College, will coach a team of players comprised of the MEAC/CIAA. Coach Whitaker led his 2010-2011 team to an overall record of 36-20 and a conference standing of 17-6. In conclusion, coach Whitaker's former shortstop Rashaad Ingram was selected in 28th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft by the San Diego Padres. Terrence Whittle, Head Baseball Coach of Elizabeth State University and Thomas Eaton of the Carolina Hurricanes, a collegiate summer league baseball organization of the Virginia-Carolina League will round out the staff for the MEAC/CIAA.
  
The Atlanta Wood Bat Instructional League and the 2nd Annual HBCU Baseball All Star Revue welcomes all of the above named coaches for their support as volunteers for the game.
  
The ATLANTA WOOD BAT NETWORK will launch a live broadcast of the event with interviews of coaches, players and fans with the the intent to showcase the baseball talent at HBCU'S.

     2ND ANNUAL HBCU ALL STAR INVITATIONAL REVUE 2011   
HBCU All Star Baseball Revue 2010
HBCU All Star Baseball Revue 2010

AWBIL will host the 2nd Annual HBCU ALLSTAR INVITATIONAL REVUE 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia on June 25-2011. Player selection will be based on recommendations from baseball scouts, coaches and media professionals who cover HBCU BASEBALL.  All participants will have no remaining collegiate eligibility and players competing will represent the CIAA, MEAC, SIAC, SWAC  NAIA, NCCAA. There will be one game and the East Team (MEAC CIAA, NAIA) v. West Team (SWAC, SIAC, NAIA). Both teams will also play a seven (7) inning game against the Atlanta Wood Bat Instructional League Royals. There will be three (3) games scheduled for the day.
   
Players from the MEAC, CIAA along with other colleges and universities that are located near the Atlantic coast are the east team. Players from the SWAC, SIAC and HBCU's located near the Mississippi River represents the west team.

AWBIL will provide game jerseys for 25 players from the SWAC/SIAC and 25 game jerseys for players from the MEAC/CIAA. All players are required to provide their own pants and a cap from their respective HBCU. If possible, players from the west will wear white pants and players from the east will wear gray pants.
  
Baseball fans who follow HBCU baseball are encouraged to forward information any player recommendation for the 2nd ANNUAL HBCU ALL STAR INVITATIONAL REVUE 2011. ******************************************************

HIGH SCHOOL ALL STAR GAME

AWBIL will host a All Star game for class of 2011 at Mundys Mill High School on June 25- 2011.

The High School All Star game will be in honor of the Ole Negro League. 

Any player that has signed a letter of intent to compete at a HBCU are encouraged and invited to participate in the game. The AWBIL HIGH SCHOOL ALL STARS will compete against the 2010 HBCU ALL STARS. With this being said, if there are any players looking to compete, send me their contact information and I will follow up and inquire if there is interest to play in the High School All Star game.
