In the spirit of Black History month the Atlanta Wood Bat Instructional League (AWBIL) announces they will host a High School All Star game and HBCU All Star Invitational Revue.

Dates of the events:

*June 12- 2010 High School All Star Game
*June 26-2010 HBCU ALL STAR INVITATIONAL

Both games will be held at Mundy's Mill High School located @ 9652 Fayetteville Road-Jonesboro, Georgia 30238

ATLANTA WOOD BAT INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE WILL HOST A HBCU ALL STAR INVITATIONAL REVUE

The Atlanta Wood Bat Instructional League would like to announce they will host a HBCU All Star Invitational Revue baseball game. 

AWBIL HBCU ALL STAR INVITATIONAL REVUE is set for June 26, 2010 and the venue is Mundy's Mill High School located @ 9652 Fayetteville Road-Jonesboro, Georgia 30238.

Player selection will be based on recommendations from baseball scouts, coaches, and media professionals that cover HBCU BASEBALL.

AWBIL fosters the development of players from the inner city that look to acquire of college education and compete at the collegiate level.

ATLANTA WOOD BAT INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE (AWBIL) ALL STAR INVITATIONAL REVUE 
AWBIL 
is a collegiate summer program for baseball players that desire to enhance their skill set over the summer. Last year AWBIL Royals competed in the Great South League a 6-8 week competitive wood bat league in the southeastern region of the United States. The GSL consist of twenty-two (22) teams representing six (6) states. It was noted by prominent baseball publications that the GSL was one of the top collegiate wood bat leagues with the potential to reach elite status.

AWBIL will host a HBCU ALLSTAR INVITATIONAL REVUE in Atlanta, Georgia on June 26-2010. Player selection will be based on recommendations from baseball professionals, coaches and media professionals who cover HBCU BASEBALL.  All participants will have no remaining collegiate eligibility and players competing will represent the CIAA, MEAC, SIAC, SWAC  NAIA, NCCAA, and NJCAA. There will be two games: the MEAC v. SWAC and the second game will consist of players from AMC, CIAA, FCS, GCAC, HC, IND, RRC, and the WVIAC.

Any player that is nominated will be required to submit a biography regarding their skill set with respect to potential as a professional baseball player. All participants must pay an administrative fee of $125.00 and the cost will be utilized to underwrite the cost (wood bats, uniforms, baseballs, facility ental umpire fees etc....) of the event. 

AWBIL's mission is not only collegiate summer baseball but there is a community service obligation too. In addition to the HBCU ALL STAR REVUE, here are a list of projects slated for the 2010 baseball season:

*AWBIL High School All Star Game Class 2010-High School All Star game for players from the Atlanta Georgia metropolitan area and the neighboring states (ALABAMA, SOUTH CAROLINA AND TENNESSEE). Date of event June 12-2010.

*Heritage Day-A sponsored baseball camp and clinic for kids from the inner city and the Hispanic community of the Atlanta Georgia metropolitan area.

*Adopt A Park and Mentor Our Youth-Offering camps and clinics for youth baseball associations in the Atlanta Georgia metropolitan area.

AWBIL SUPPORTS THE RESURGENCE OF BASEBALL IN THE INNER CITY.
