Greetings!

Time flies doesn't it? The year is just about half over! As you may have noticed, we have 'remodeled' our eNews and hope you will find it even more enjoyable and easier to read. You can now view past issues of the newsletter by using the eNews Archive button to the right.

This month's newsletter will also show you why now is the time to remodel! Here are a just few reasons (and we're sure you have a few of your own as well):

- We've extended our Patio Offer of the Month through July 15, see details below.
- Time is running out for the 2010 $1500 Federal Tax credit! Remember, the Duralum 3" Insulated Panel patio covers now qualify.
- The holidays will be here before you know it .... get a jump on them and give yourself a newly remodeled home as a gift!

Whatever your reason to remodel winds up being, we would love to help make it a reality. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Tom & Jan Karaffa
Several years after settling into their 1928 English Tudor-style home, the Karaffas were finally able to determine exactly how to make their home what they needed it to be. They chose us to help them create their dream home by expanding & remodeling the kitchen and adding a master bathroom. The main goals were to add more space and at the same time retain the historical integrity of the house, which did not offer the room they needed for entertaining. By taking down the complete back wall of the house and adding 450 square feet, we provided them with everything they needed to make their home inviting for their guests-as well as more accommodating to their own everyday needs. Half of the space was devoted to the kitchen; the other half to the bathroom, relocated laundry area and the grand rear porch entry.
In the kitchen, we added a large dining area, plenty of room to move around while cooking, and extra storage space. Now, the kitchen is more open to the dining area, so that they are not secluded from everyone else while cooking.  Another distinctive space-saving piece was the flat panel TV hung on in a recessed niche in the wall and hidden behind a chalk board, providing entertainment for the cook, as well as the guests.
They found some great deals, such as the porcelain tile flooring that has the appearance of distressed hardwood planks, providing the 'older' look to match the historical style of the rest of the house, at a much lower price. With their sharp shopping skills and our technical expertise, we kept to the budget and all of us wound up happy in the end. The Karaffas are now extremely pleased with their house and have enjoyed many parties since its completion!

Paul's Blog

Last month saw the saga of Paul's trials & tribulations come to a close and starting this month he will be taking some time off from writing. However, we'd like to share the following verse since perseverance was the moral of Paul's story:

"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him."  James 1:12

And just in case you missed them, the last 3 months are available HERE.

The New Rules of Remodeling

You may have noticed the lines at home-improvement stores getting longer or heard the whirring of buzz saws in your neighborhood. After years of economic recession and housing-market malaise, people are starting to fix up their homes again. According to a report from the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, this year could produce the first annual spending increase for the industry since 2006, the peak of the housing boom.

But, the forces driving today's action couldn't be more different from those during the boom. Back then, people wanted to renovate their places so that they could trade up to bigger homes, or because their home equity was soaring and they wanted to reinvest some of the spoils.

Now, the opposite is happening: People are making their homes more comfortable for a longer-than-expected stay. Setting aside old calculations of how much a particular improvement will add to resale value, they are making smaller tweaks that can make a big difference in livability. You might call it "psychological return on investment." Nowadays, say real-estate agents and contractors, projects like updating
kitchens and baths and humble attic to bedroom conversions are more popular. Hidden improvements like insulation are also on the rise. Tax credits that expire in 2010 are enticing people to make energy improvements, too.

With little reason to expect huge price gains in the housing market in the next few years, some homeowners are thinking especially long-term. Senior improvements are becoming quite popular as people prepare to stay in their homes into their old age. Roll in showers, grab bars, ramps, wider doorways and wheelchair compatible flooring are all easy ways to make sure your house is ready for your golden years.

After a rough year, we here at All Pro are happy to see things start picking up. When so many companies fell apart, our years of experience and the loyalty of all our customers helped us make it through the worst with our sterling reputation intact. Now that people are starting to realize it's time to remodel again, many of them are choosing us. It has been a test of our dedication and abilities, and we're happy to say we have passed with flying colors! Call us today and see why we are one of the best remodelers in the business!
