Patient Testimonials
I entered physical therapy with severe pain and a decrease in mobility...with the help of my physical therapist and aide, I have been able to totally recover, pain free. I am extremely grateful to Sport & Spine Therapy of Marin and would highly recommend them to anyone. They're the best!
-- Maureen M.
I started arriving for appointments on crutches and ended riding my bike from my house. I am very grateful to all who helped me at Sport & Spine Therapy of Marin! --Andrew D.
Their insight and evaluation, along with an excellent, effective regimen, did wonders for my spine and headache issues. I'd be foolish not to follow what I've learned for a life long commitment to good posture resulting in 'no head aches!"
-- Marvin M.

Dear ,
It's official! Sport & Spine Therapy of Marin in Novato is moving -- but only down the street. On March 18th, we will be closing our doors at 165 Rowland Way and reopening them on March 21st at 88 Rowland Way. Our new facility will be twice the size of our old one. You'll find plenty of parking, we're closer to the freeway and when you're done with your treatment, you can walk next door to the Rowland Plaza theaters to catch a movie!
We're very excited about the move and the bigger location. We'll have new equipment and new opportunities to bring you more classes and specialized programs designed for your needs. More details to follow!
And stay tuned for our grand opening celebration on April 26th! We hope you'll be able to join us.
In health and wellness,
Steve Thompson

March is National Athletic Training Month!
March is National Athletic Training Month, a designation to honor all of the certified athletic trainers (ATCs) who serve the public. ATCs are health care professionals who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses. Here are some facts you may not know about certified athletic trainers: 1. ATCs are regulated and licensed health care workers. 2. ATCs specialize in patient education to prevent injury and re-injury and reduce rehabilitative and other health care costs. 3. ATCs have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and nearly 70 percent of ATCs have a master's or doctoral degree. 4. ATCs improve patient functional and physical outcomes. 5. ATCs are certified by an independent national board. At SSTM, we're honored to have THREE Certified Athletic Trainers who work for us:
Daniel Vasquez Gina Zaparelli Jason Santos Novato Novato San Anselmo
(read more about Jason below!)
If you're in our clinics over the next few weeks say hi to our ATCs and wish them a Happy Athletic Training Month!
Thanks for all you do Daniel, Gina and Jason!

Play it Safe on the Slopes!
We're heading into spring skiing soon so we wanted to make sure you're playing it safe on the slopes. Although we've got a few weeks to go, that 'Sierra Cement' can wreak havoc, so make sure your muscles are adequately warmed up to avoid injury. The common thread among most winter sport injuries is a lack of proper pre- and post-activity stretching (not to mention pre-season training!). Skiing and snowboarding are dynamic activities that employ multiple muscle groups. These activities are carried out in cold weather and on even and uneven surfaces and place high levels of stress on muscles and joints. Due to this stress we commonly see strained, pulled, or torn muscles, ligament tears and sprained joints. When treating these patients, we stress proper stretching before and after activity to promote injury prevention and performance enhancement. In addition, a pre-season training routine can keep you on the slopes the entire season. To download a PDF with specific exercises for preventing winter sport injuries, click here.

We're pleased to announce that Jason Santos, MPT, ATC, has joined our San Anselmo clinic.
Jason received his B.S. in Kinesiology from Cal State Sacramento in 2003 and went on to complete his Masters in Physical Therapy at Cal State Sacramento in 2005. In addition to having his Masters in Physical Therapy, Jason is also a Certified Athletic Trainer.
With over five years of experience in outpatient physical therapy, Jason brings sports-specific knowledge focused on conditioning, manual therapy, bio-mechanics and therapeutic exercise.
A resident of Novato, Jason's love of sports and exercise, led him to a career in physical therapy. When he's not at the clinic, you'll likely find Jason on a racquetball court or golf course or working on his home.
