Patient Testimonials
Thank you so much for the warmth, kindness, and caring support you give your clients. I so appreciate the way you now only address the physical needs of people, but also the very important emotional care and motivation to do what needs to be done to heal. Thank you for all you have done to bring me to where I am now.
-- Lynn W.

The team at SSTM was a joy to work with. Over a period of just a few weeks, I went from constant pain to movement and freedom. Th entire team made sure I focusd on the right strengthening and stretching as well as a long term plan for continued health. Excellent work. Excellent experience.
--Andrew D.

Dear ,

Happy Holidays! I hope this newsletter finds you healthy, happy and preparing for the holiday season. I also hope you were able to take advantage of our free 15-minute consultation that we offered in October and November. If not, I have some good news -- we've extended our offer through the end of the year! So if you or someone you know is suffering from ongoing pain or diminished mobility, call us today to get a free consultation. Sometimes, just 15-minutes is all it takes to get you back on track.

As we enter the second week of December, I wanted to remind you to review your insurance benefits. If you have remaining benefits owed to you for 2010, you have just over three weeks to utilize them. Also, If you have a tax-advantaged savings account, be aware that most plans don't allow you to roll over your balances into the new year. Make sure you take full advantage of the health care benefits you have coming to you!

Lastly, it's getting cold out there and I wanted to remind you about exercising with caution outdoors. Please, see the article below on how to keep yourself from getting injured while exercising when it's cold outside. Stay warm!

Piggy Bank Check UpCheck up on Your Medical Savings Before the End of the Year!

-------------------------------------------------

If you have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), or other tax-advantaged medical savings account, be forewarned. The funds you've set aside throughout the year may not rollover to 2011 and you could lose your remaining balance if not used by the end of the year. Check with your insurance company or employee benefits manager to see if you have any unused contributions.

Also, most insurance plan deductibles renew in January, which means if you need healthcare after January 1, 2011, your initial expenses will be out-of-pocket. Since you've probably already met your deductible for 2010, take full advantage of your healthcare benefits before December 31st.

If you are dealing with lingering aches and pains and have benefits remaining, give us a call so we can make sure you get the treatment you need and are entitled to. The holiday season is always our busiest time, so call soon for the best available appointments. You have approximately three weeks left in the year to utilize remaining funds in your medical savings accounts.

Cold Weather Exercise: Tips for Staying Safe Outdoors

Cold weather is a pretty subjective phrase, depending on where you live. In California for example anything under 50 or 60 degrees can often be characterized as cold. However, ask someone from Chicago to describe cold weather and you're sure to get a different response!

From a meteorological perspective, cold weather is generally considered where the air temperature is 40 degrees or below. If you exercise outdoors in the mornings or the evenings in the Bay Area, you're likely to encounter cold weather this time of year, which can create unique injury hazards. Additionally, if you're a snow enthusiast, your prime season is just beginning.

A thorough warm up and cool down are essential to cold weather exercise as is dressing in layers, protecting head, hands and feet, and paying attention to the forecast.
