Naval Station Norfolk gets an upgrade . . .
This fall the final touches of a massive TCC office and classroom overhaul were completed aboard Naval Station Norfolk.
 | | Welcome to TCC Naval Station Norfolk! |
The Student Services office received new flooring, paint, furniture, a student work area, and extra testing space. Two classrooms in Building CEP-87 were given up-to-date MPS teaching stations complete with

internet connected flat-panel student computers at every desk and an overhead projector and screen that can connect to a desktop, laptop, DVD players and more. Professors in these classrooms can now use all the technology they would have access to on campus. Within the next year Naval Station will begin to offer IT courses in these spaces including ITE 115, which is a requirement for all TCC graduates.
 | | Melanie Kordis at her former office |
Melanie Kordis, former Naval Station Norfolk and current Oceana Base Representative worked hard to get these upgrades completed. She says the extra space really gives military students on base an edge. Prior to these classroom upgrades, IT courses and many technology dependent courses had to be taken on the campus. Now these classes are more convenient for our military students and their family.
 | | The office now offers more student work space |
Check out the upgrades for yourself! Visit the Naval Station Norfolk office Monday-Friday 9am-3pm in building CEP-87, Room 210.
