Important Information before your child can start school

Please read the attached information from the health room regarding both immunizations and student medication requirements that must be completed before the start of school.  Then plan some time this summer to take care of updating your child's immunization records and/or receive any needed shots. Also provided are the requirements, deadlines and procedure to have student medications available at school.

Starting off the New Year

Although it's still more than a month away, this is just a reminder that the first day of school this year is September 4 (the day after Labor Day). School will dismiss at 11:45.

Back to School Night will be held the first two nights of the school year: September 4 for grades 6-8 and September 5 for grades K-5. We moved Back to School Night to the beginning of the year starting last year in order to make an early connection between parents and their children's teachers. - Mr. Burroughs

Auction Team

I am very happy to announce that our leadership team for this year's gala auction is Kim Douglass, Shelley Johnson, and Aurora Paz. I am very grateful that these three talented parents have stepped up to lead another great auction this year. Alison Scott, in her role as Assistant Director of Development will once again work with the leadership team providing support and leadership in the areas of finances, logistics, database, and contracts. I am looking forward to a terrific auction!

Fr. Steve's Installation

Fr. Steve's installation as our new pastor will take place at the 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday, September 8th. Everyone is invited to attend. I especially want to encourage all of our parents and staff to attend this important and happy event. Let's all get out and show our support for Fr. Steve and give him a great official welcome as our new pastor.

School Lunches

Blue Plate Express is pleased to be providing tasty, healthy lunches to your school for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year.

At Blue Plate Express we take pride in the quality of our lunches. All of our food is prepared in our kitchen. Last year we expanded our menu and added daily entree salads, our new Hawaiian pizza became a best seller and the Taco Bar was introduced with great success. We plan more new items this coming year. Look for more sandwiches, French dips, Soups, Smoothies and a few Blue Plate originals (see the September menu here). We now offer up to 8 quality selections daily!

We have been using compostable plates for 2 years now. Last year we began using compostable utensils, salad containers and condiment cups. We also replaced ketchup packets with a ketchup dispenser and will replace all packets this year.

Lunches will cost between $4.35 and $5.50 and always include a fresh vegetable and fruit. Ordering can be done two ways, online or by phone at 206-525-2511. We accept credit cards and checks as payment. Orders can be made until Sunday night 8pm, on line, for the following week, or by phone until 4pm Friday.

Each year you must create a NEW on-line account. All accounts from last year are deleted. This is to ensure proper teacher placement on your account.

We look forward to providing your children with tasty, healthy lunches and we truly appreciate the opportunity.

- Bruce Bowen, Owner of Blue Plate Express
