The Health Room Needs Your Help to Care for Your Children!

Please take a few moments to read the attached information from the health room regarding immunizations. Then plan some time this summer to take care of updating your child's immunization records and/or receive any needed shots.  - Mr. Burroughs

Supply List

Please note, the supply list sent out in June was in error. Please refer to the corrected (and much smaller) version here. I apologize for the confusion. - Mr. Burroughs

School Uniforms

Thank you for your patience as we have made the transition to Lands' End as our preferred provider for our School Uniforms.  In today's FTH is an updated Uniform Policy, where you will notice that there are still a few items that can be purchased at Dennis Uniform, as well as from other vendors.  As we shared with you at the State of the School Address, Lands' Ends is the only vendor where you can purchase the blue uniform crew neck sweatshirt.  Families are also welcome to come shop in our Used Uniform Closet

In the transition we have added a few items that I think you will like, as well as made some changes to the policy, so please review it carefully.  One important change beginning this year is that students will be required to wear the blue uniform crew neck sweatshirt, the Evergreen sweater, sweater vest, or any of the fleece options with the SHS logo in the upper left hand corner to our All School Masses and on school field trips, when requested.

One thing we discovered in working with the people from Lands' End was that when ordering online, families are not able to request a personal monogram *and* a school logo. While they are working on this if you would like Lands' End to monogram your school sweatshirt, or any of the fleece items, please contact the Customer Service Dept. with your online order number and they will be happy to help you.   I know some families have also ordered iron on labels through www.campbound.com  and others have used embroidery shops such as http://www.bellevueembroidery.com/

If you have any questions as you are purchasing/ordering uniform items for your son or daughter, please do not hesitate to email me directly.  - Ms. Gray

Auction Chairs

I am happy to announce that Kim Douglass, our drama teacher and Playmakers director has offered to chair the gala auction next year. Kim will have two daughters here at Sacred Heart School next year and decided to jump in to volunteering with both feet! She has previous experience with auctions, having chaired a few at the Bear Creek School in prior years. I am very grateful to Kim for her generous offer. Kim will be assisted by Alison Scott, our assistant director of development. In her role at the school, Alison oversees the accounting, data entry, cashiering, contracts, and more.

We have a terrific start to our leadership team. Now we just need YOU! We are seeking two more auction chairs to provide leadership to the coming year's gala auction along with Kim and Alison. Previous auction experience (either here at Sacred Heart School or elsewhere) is required along with a love of Sacred Heart School, a positive attitude, patience, and a drive to succeed. We are especially looking for volunteers who have experience with procurement and/or sponsorships.

I am certain that there are two parents in our community who have the time and love of our school and have thought that you might like to lead. Now is the time to answer the call you are feeling! Contact me by phone or e-mail right away so that you don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to lead the school's most important fundraising event and the premier social event of the school year. You will be glad that you did.  - Mr. Burroughs

Scrip (Gift Cards) Sales

Summer is a great time to buy and use scrip: birthday gifts, purchases while travelling, summer entertainment, and more.  Why not pick up some $25 movie scrip for AMC or Regal cinemas? Buy a new MP3 player to listen to all the sounds of summer or a flat screen television to watch the Olympics with Best Buy scrip. Or grab a meal out at Anthony's Homeport ($50), Applebees ($25), or Burger King ($10). These cards and many more, are eagerly waiting to join your family in making a terrific summer!

Also, don't forget to purchase your Lands End gift cards for school uniforms which gives back 16% to the school.

Scrip may be purchased this weekend after all Masses or at school office during business hours. (Call ahead to make sure that there is someone in the office).

Changes to the Scrip Program  -  Effective Tuesday, September 4th,  2012

A review of our Scrip program has led to changes which will streamline the process for our SH community as well as Scrip volunteers.  We expect the new program will be more efficient and simpler for all involved!

For more details on the changes please see the website.
