After School Hours Survey - Please Submit Right Away
If you have not yet submitted your after-hours homework and activities survey, please do so right away. We need your input for planning purposes. Click here to access the spreadsheet. Please enter times as accurately as possible. If you have more than one child in the school, please fill out a form for each one. Please e-mail the spreadsheet(s) to afterschool@sacredheart.org. That will allow us to keep this survey information separated for all of the other e-mails that we receive.

Outstanding Teacher and Staff Awards
We are introducing a new program this year to recognize outstanding performance by teachers and other school staff members. Each year one teacher and one non-teacher staff member will be selected to be recognized and awarded a $1,000 award.
Nominations will come from current and past parents, alumni, and current staff members. An independent committee will be formed to review the nominations and select one recipient in each category. The awards will be presented each year at the Sate of the School meeting in April.
Nominations for the 2011/2012 award are due no later than Friday, March 9, 2012.

Annual Parent Survey
The annual parent survey will be available beginning next Thursday. See the From the Heart or the school website for a link. Please take a few minutes to complete this important survey about the school's operations, programs, and personnel. We value your input and make use of the information you provide in our planning for the next year.
Update on health screenings:
During the week of January 29th, Sacred Heart School conducted our annual vision and hearing screening for students in grades K-3, 5 and 7. All required re-screenings were completed in February. Screenings identify those children who need to follow up with a health care provider to look into a possible vision or hearing issue. If your child's final screening results indicate further evaluation is recommended, I will be sending you an email this week with your child's results.
A huge thank you goes out to Rhonna Burnett who helped to coordinate this year's screenings. She did a great job! And as always, we could not have done it without our many parent volunteers.....Thank you!
Half Day ESS
Friday, March 23rd, is a half day with dismissal at 11:45am. ESS will be available from 11:45 until 3:00 for those who sign up. Students will need to bring a sack lunch. Morning ESS will run as usual. Please email Amy Davis to reserve a spot.
Return From Mid-Winter Break Uniform Reminder
Now that we have returned from mid-winter break, students can no longer wear boots to school in any manner. Also, students can no longer wear leggings with socks.
With the cold weather we have this past week, it may be a good idea to keep your solid white, navy and green tights close at hand; for those students who prefer to wear the skirts and jumpers, it is a great way to keep those little legs warm.
For more detailed information on Sacred Heart School's uniform policy, please refer to our website. Thank you. - Ms. Gray
Lost and Found
Our closet has finally maxed out with un-marked clothing so it is time to donate to the wonderful organization we support in the Tukwila school district which helps refugee families moving into our area. Please take a moment (or ask your child) to go to the gym foyer to check the articles of clothing, shoes, accessories, etc. as we will be donating unclaimed items on Friday, March 2nd. Remember that small and high value items are held at the front desk by Kerry Wyman.
