Fund-a-Need

The Fund-a-Need is an opportunity at the auction to raise your paddle in support of a special school project. Last year our community generously funded new flooring and furniture in several classrooms, a refurbishing of the Moore Theater, and improvements to our play structures.

This year, our Fund-a-Need provides us all an exciting opportunity to become a permanent part of Sacred Heart School's success! When you raise your paddle this year in support of the school's endowment, you will be a making multi-generational gift. Your contribution to the endowment will make a difference in our school's program and facilities next year and every year after that.

And this year we have an extra-special opportunity with our Fund-a-Need to honor our pastor, Fr. Pat. As you probably know, he is retiring in June after twelve years here at Sacred Heart Parish and more than 35 years of service as a priest in the Archdiocese of Seattle. Fr. Pat has been a passionate supporter of Catholic education during that time: serving as pastor of three schools, serving on Catholic high school boards, serving on the Fulcrum Foundation's board, providing retreats for principals, and playing Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer every year after our school's final Mass before Christmas, among so many other things.  Fr. Pat even worked as a teacher himself before becoming a priest. So, this year raise your paddle to support Sacred Heart School and to honor Fr. Pat and his commitment to Catholic education.

After School Hours Survey

Over the next two weeks we are asking our parents to collect information about your children's after school activities: homework, tutoring, extra-curricular activities, ESS, etc. We are collecting this information to help us in planning our curriculum and instruction, after school programs, etc., and to help us all get a better sense of how our students are spending their non-school hours. Click here to access the spreadsheet. Please enter times as accurately as possible. If you have more than one child in the school, please fill out a form for each one. At the end of the survey time, please e-mail the spreadsheet(s) to [email protected]. That will allow us to keep this survey information separated for all of the other e-mails that we receive. - Mr. Burroughs

A Green Thumb is Needed!

The Sacred Heart Environment Committee is the group of men and women who are responsible for the enhancement of our Church appropriately to coincide with Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Pentecost. We especially need someone to water the plants during the week and help design the layout of the plants and flowers for big feasts. You'll enjoy meeting new people; discovering what goes on behind the scenes; and gain a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment in knowing that you were a part of creating the beauty for each liturgical season.

To be a part of this great team please call Sr. Mary Jo 425-450-3906

If you have content to include in future newsletters *please first obtain administration permission* by e-mailing your submission into the school office.  Newsletters are published weekly and content must be received by Tuesday evenings. - Tracy Takeuchi
