Correction to information in the most recent edition of the From the Heart
We inadvertently forget to include the 2nd grade class in our list of class who participated in service projects as part of their Advent celebrations. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade classes each adopted a family for Christmas and generously supported them through the purchase of SCRIP cards and bus passes. Thank you to all of our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade families for your support of these service projects. - Mr. Burroughs and Ms. Gray
7th and 8th Grade Washington, D.C. Trip
Weekly Student Meetings for those going on the spring break trip to Washington, D.C. begin on Wednesday, January 11, during lunch and recess. These meetings will prepare the students for the trip by focusing on the sites we will be visiting and behavior expectations. These are mandatory meetings and will continue until Spring Break. Students should bring a sack lunch (milk will be available to those who have purchased it) and come directly to Mrs. McReynolds's room after 4th period. - Mrs. McReynolds

2011-12 Annual Fund - Thank you so much to everyone who fulfilled their pledges for the year! We had a great December and are inching closer to our goals. Currently we have received $108,908 which puts us at 49% of pledges made. There are still a few families (only 5%) that have not made their pledges for the 2011-12 Annual Fund. You can do that anytime by emailing Alison Scott or you can just go online and make your donation at Give Now. This is a fully tax deductible donation that is also eligible for a corporate match if your employer offers that benefit.
Thank you again Sacred Heart families for your kind and generous spirit!

Unforgettable Summer Canoe-Tripping Camp Opportunity
Camp Wabun provides a wonderful, challenging canoe-tripping camp experience like no other for boys and girls ages 10 through 18. This camp is only advertised through word of mouth by Wabun alumni and has been in operation since 1933, drawing campers from all parts of the United States, Canada and around the world. The camp website provides more information about the camp and how it operates. The camp director will be in town on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 1pm
to do a presentation on the camp and answer questions for interested parents and potential campers. This meeting is also an alumni gathering so new parents and potential campers can talk to former and current Wabun campers to learn about this experience. Our sons have enjoyed this camp the last 3 summers and are looking forward to another Wabun adventure this coming summer. If you have a son or daughter who is up for a serious active challenge in the great outdoors away from cell phones, video games and Facebook and would like to learn more, please contact Angela Traynor who can provide you with location information about the upcoming Wabun presentation.
