Student Council Needs Photos!

On December 16th, the Student Council will lead our Winter Spirit Assembly. We will be honoring all fall activities on a slide show, but we need photos! If you have snapped any pictures of soccer, cross country, chess, basketball, etc. that you would be willing to share, please email them to Kaleen Covington. Our Sports Commissioner will be providing narration and captions, so names and grade of the people in the photos will be very helpful when you send the pictures.

Coaster Contest

Thank you to all who participated in our art contest to design our school Christmas gifts this year. We received many more submissions than anticipated and had a difficult time selecting eight. One important consideration in our selection was how the picture looked when reduced to the right size for the coaster. The eight selected submissions can be viewed through the school website. The selected artists were: Joseph Burroughs (6th), Amelia Jenkins (8th), Alana Montoya (5th), Claire Russell (6th), Linley Porter (8th), Eva Stojanovic (3th), Nicole Stojanovic (4th), and Makena Weber (3th).  All eight students will receive a set of coasters next week.

Shoe Liturgy, December 16th 9:00am Mass

Please click here for information and special instructions about this great tradition.

Uniform Reminders

The time has come when boots can be worn to school, as a reminder, boots may only be worn with pants.  Please remember, that when once we return from mid-winter break, students will no longer be able to wear boots this year school.

I have also noticed a number of students wearing leggings under their jumpers/skirts.  Per our uniform policy, students are to wear either solid white, navy, or green socks or tights. For more detailed information on Sacred Heart School's uniform policy, please refer to our website.

Thank you - Ms. Gray

Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten 2012-2013

We are now accepting applications for our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs for the 2012-13 school year.  Please click on the above links for more detailed information on the application process and deadlines.

Report Card Information

Report cards for the first trimester will be sent home this Friday with our students. Along with grades, students in grades 3-8 will receive a copy of their ITBS scores. For the first time, students in grades 3, 5, 7 & 8 will also receive a copy of their CogAt scores. The CogAt is a cognitive aptitude test. The ITBS test measures what students have learned and the CogAT measures their cognitive ability. This provides the school with valuable information so that we can measure how students are learning compared to their predictions provided by the CogAT. It will also help us, as we explore the CogAT results more fully, to better meet the learning needs of all of our students with this additional information.

Middle School report cards will not have attendance included this trimester. The final report cards for the year will show attendance and you can still view your child's attendance on Power School. However, a glitch that is being fixed prevents printing them on the report cards at this time. This will not affect 8th grade applications as the school is required to enter this information by hand on the application form.

Annual Fund

This year, we are sending Annual Fund reminders via email to save on postage. Reminders were sent out on Monday of this week. If you did not receive one, it may be for a few reasons. Emails were sent to the first email contact listed in the online registration process. If you would like the reminders sent to another email address or if you would still like to receive the reminders in the mail, please contact Alison Scott. Also, if you have already fulfilled your Annual Fund pledge, you did not receive a reminder. You will instead receive a tax receipt letter in early January for those that have completed their pledge by December 31st, 2011. Lastly, if you have not yet made your pledge to Sacred Heart School, you did not receive the email. There is still time to make your pledge/donation and you can do so online at Give Now. Thank you so much for your kind generous spirit!
